The Futurian
THE FUTURIAN MAGAZINE
The Futurian is a new on-line foresight magazine designed for a general readership. Our focus is upon a longer horizon of ten to fifteen years from now. We would like to explore what the world will look like at that point in time. This naturally makes our articles more descriptive than analytical, although it will not always be easy to disentangle the two. We appreciate that such futures must be, by their very nature, speculative. However, we plan to ensure that the writing does not fall into wishful thinking or an exaggerated dystopian future. We believe that the future will have both good and bad elements and we wish to capture the flavour of both of these.
Our publication page on Medium can be found here.
We intend to publish on-line only, starting at the end of March 2021. It is our intention to publish a broad contour of the next issue in advance so that writers who would like to offer a piece can do so with the knowledge of what we would like to publish. Details of this can be found on our call for content page, which can be accessed here.
We are also willing to publish pieces that don't appear on our wish list and we would welcome work on an unsolicited basis.
Could all authors acquaint themselves with our notes for writers (which can be accessed here). They provide an important outline about how to interact with us, how to present the work to us, and what the terms and conditions of publication are.
