Biography
Felistus is a financial inclusion specialist. She has been working in the financial sector for the last two decades, the last 14 years of these in financial inclusion. Her interest in financial inclusion has been in exploring how finance can evolve to meet the needs of the poorer members of society. She is currently the Head, Poverty Impact at Financial Sector Deepening Trust (FSD Kenya), a special purpose vehicle funded by several development partners.
Felistus is very enthusiastic about FSD Kenya’s current strategy which is exploring how finance can evolve to deliver value to the real economy rather than being extractive. Her work involves discovering, through experimentation, partnerships between finance and the real economy that can make this happen. One of the initiatives in FSD Kenya’s current strategy is the financial sector future vision. The objective of this project is to create a shared vision of how finance should develop to support Kenya’s poverty reduction. She presently works and lives in Nairobi, Kenya.
Felistus is an MBA (Finance) and a Doctor of Strategic Leadership (Strategic Foresight) and is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF). She is bothered by economic inequality and poverty and is passionate about pursuing sustainable solutions to these. This led to her doctorate final project which culminated in the soon to be published manuscript titled Kenya’s Road to Sustainable and Inclusive Development: A Tri-view of the Past, Present, and Future. She is also an executive coach.
