Biography:
Driven by a higher purpose of “transformational leadership that changes the world,” Dr. Kimberly “Kay” Daniels is a change agent at heart. She is passionate about making small impacts that have a ripple effect in making lives better, organizations smarter, physical environments greener, and places more resilient. She is a lifelong learner dedicated to helping others learn, grow, and succeed. Her values include excellence, integrity, transparency, and humility.
Kimberly learned about foresight while studying for a doctoral degree in Strategic Leadership (DSL), Strategic Foresight concentration, at Regent University. At the time, she lived and worked in Ghana, West Africa, applying unique approaches in educating undergraduate students, who have consistently exceled in the community development and development management fields. Desiring to make a transformational impact in people’s lives outside of academia, Kimberly created for herself the role of Community Development Practitioner with a U.S.-based non-profit and relocated to Burkina Faso, West Africa. There, she introduced permaculture—a forward-thinking systems approach to agricultural sustainability—and rainwater harvesting to small farmers. Today, many of the Burkinabé farmers she has trained have worked their way out of poverty and are practicing innovative ways for sustaining an improved quality of life in the present and for future generations.
Kimberly directs Foresighted Leadership Group, which brings together foresight and leadership as interdependent core competencies for strategic thinking, planning, and decision making. A member of the Association of Professional Futurists, she enjoys helping to shape place-based futures characterized by transformation, holism, sustainability, and resilience.
