Current Opportunities
We are currently looking to recruit eight Emerging Fellows for 2020. The Emerging Fellows will be tasked with delivering the 2020 Emerging Fellows Programme (click here for the project overview).
These are unpaid Fellowships. Those successfully completing the programme will contribute a chapter to the programme volume, which may give rise to a small financial reward on a profit sharing basis. The main benefits of joining the programme are to be recognised by the Association of Professional Futurists as an Emerging Fellow and to contribute to a published volume. The programme will be delivered as a vehicle for work experience in a live project, subject to a commercial approach to delivering a futures project. Those completing the project will have gained experience of working in a large, multi-national, multi-cultural, project to deliver a piece of thinking on a pressing subject of our time.
The commitments associated with the project are to research and write a short piece (between 500 and 700 words) on a monthly basis for a year. The subjects of the pieces will be determined by prior agreement before the project commences and a deadline for submissions will be established before the project goes live. The submissions will be edited by EUFO. One of the objectives of the project is to coach the participants in their commercial writing skills. Once the editing process is complete, the monthly pieces will be published by the Association of Professional Futurists on their blog page.
If you would like to apply for an Emerging Fellowship, or if you have any further queries, please e-mail me to introduce yourself. Please state which topic you would be interested in examining and how you would approach breaking the task into twelve sub-topics.
The closing date for applications will be 17:00 hrs BST on Friday 27th September 2019.
